Cyndi Lauper capped off her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour with a spectacular two-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on August 29th and 30th, bringing an unforgettable close to her first major headlining run in over a decade. The shows marked the end of a 25-date extension to her farewell trek and came just months after Lauper’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The night of the finale featured a parade of surprise guests ranging from Joni Mitchell and Cher to SZA, John Legend, and Trombone Shorty.
The finale kicked off with Lauper leading the crowd through favorites like “She Bop”, “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough”, and “I Drove All Night”, setting the stage for a night that celebrated both her legacy and a reminder that her music and spirit remain timeless.
The first guest appearance came when Trombone Shorty joined Lauper for “Iko Iko”, instantly setting the tone for a night of collaborations. Later on, Joni Mitchell shared a heartfelt duet of her own classic “Carey” with the pop icon, John Legend lent his voice to a soulful rendition of “Time After Time”, and Jake Wesley Rogers joined for “Money Changes Everything”.
