Dan Auerbach is making a name for himself as a solo artist in the presentation of his second-ever LP Waiting on a Song. Following his 2009 Keep It Hid, The Black Keys/The Arcs guitarist and vocalist is set to drop the record on June 2, 2017. Last month, he shared the album’s first single “Shine On Me,” featuring Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits.

Today, Auerbach shares “King of a One Horse Town,” which he wrote for “anyone who’s scared of the outside world.” In a press statement, he continues, “Anyone who’s afraid to go beyond their own block for fear of failure. It could be a drug dealer. A drunk. A professor. That’s a feeling any of us can relate to.” The song showcases the “old school” music that Auerbach plans to revitalize.
