Guitarist Danny Mayer has assembled a new super-trio! The new group features The Nth Power’s Nate Edgar on bass and Turkuraz’s Michelangelo Carubba on drums. True to its nature, The Danny Mayer Trio (DMT) is transcendent of rock and roll, yet maintains deep spiritual roots in the funk-o-sphere.
Danny Mayer has toured extensively with Alan Evans Trio, and shared many stages with members of major acts like Lettuce, Snarky Puppy, and Trey Anastasio Band. He commented about the group, saying, “The beautiful thing about this band is that it was formed out of a super tight friendship and great vibe that I’ve always had with Nate and Michelangelo. That is the foundation of DMT – an extremely positive vibe, a tangible love for what we do and a deep appreciation for each other’s playing. It just so happens that they’re two of my favorite musicians on the planet as well!”
The new DMT group will make their debut on December 16th, but for those who can’t wait, you can catch Mayer and Carubba this Saturday, for Elise Testone’s All-Star Tribute To Led Zeppelin at the Hall at MP, presented by Live For Live Music.
DMT is currently gearing up for a 4-night tour across the Northeast, and those shows will include female vocalists Mary Corso (Beau Sasser’s Escape Plan) and Shira Elias (Turkuaz) throughout the run. Check out the full schedule below!
