[Update]: Dark Star Orchestra has finalized the lineup for the band’s annual Dark Star Jubilee festival, expanding the bill heading to Thornville, OH’s Legend Valley from May 26th–28th, 2024 with six additional acts.

Keller Williams will return to the Jubilee for a special Grateful Gospel set featuring DSO co-founder John Kadlecik on guitar, in addition to performances from newly announced artists including synthwave sensation Doom Flamingo, bluegrass heir Sam Grisman Project, technicolored feel-good rockers Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers, Columbus, OH’s own Doc Robinson, and a special Vitamin A set from Dark Star drummer Dino English.

These acts join the previously announced lineup topped with three nights of long-running Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra. The Memorial Day Weekend get-together will also host performances from Greensky Bluegrass, Melvin Seals & JGB, Daniel Donato, Jennifer Hartswick, Jeff Mattson & Friends, Rumpke Mountain Boys, Holly Bowling, Pimps of Joytime, and BareFuzz.

Along with the lineup additions, Dark Star Jubilee revealed that the Grateful Guitars Foundation will bring four historical guitars played by the Grateful Dead to the festival for artists to perform with. Instruments include Jerry Garcia‘s “Aligator” Fender Stratocaster and the Martin D-28 acoustic he used when recording American Beauty.

[11/15/23]: Dark Star Orchestra, the long-running Grateful Dead tribute act, has announced the lineup for the 11th edition of its annual spring festival, Dark Star Jubilee, due to take place at Legend Valley in Thornville, OH from May 24th–26th, 2024.

In addition to three nights of Dark Star Orchestra, the 2024 Jubilee will feature performances by Greensky Bluegrass, Melvin Seals & JGB, Daniel Donato, Jennifer Hartswick, Jeff Mattson & Friends, Rumpke Mountain Boys, Holly Bowling, Pimps of Joytime, and BareFuzz. The initial artist announcement also indicated that six more acts will be added to the bill as the event approaches. Check out the full lineup below.

Early-bird tickets to Dark Star Jubilee go on sale this Friday, November 17th at 10 a.m. ET. Fans who purchase tickets on Friday will have access to a limited allotment of lower-price tickets that take $100 off GA gate prices and $150 off VIP gate price tickets (while supplies last). Festival GA & VIP tickets and RV passes are available via the festival website.

Dark Star Orchestra has plenty on its plate to keep the wheel turning through the end of 2023 and into 2024. The Grateful Dead act is in the midst of a lengthy fall leg that will culminate in a multi-city “Cosmic New Year’s Run” at Red Bank, NJ’s Count Basie Center (12/28, 12/29) and Port Chester, NY’s The Capitol Theatre (12/30, 12/31).
