Dark Star Orchestra will celebrate a quarter century of music, memories, and community with its 25th Anniversary Fall Tour this November. The band will return to Chicago on 11/11 for a special anniversary performance at The Vic exactly 25 years after playing its first-ever show at nearby Martyr’s, with additional dates throughout the entire month.
Over the past two and a half decades, Dark Star Orchestra has played over 3,100 concerts honoring the music of the Grateful Dead, often recreating entire setlists from the band’s past. In a world full of Grateful Dead cover bands, DSO stands unmatched, celebrating the Grateful Dead experience with an unparalleled level of authenticity.

The band’s 25th Anniversary Fall Tour will commence in the Midwest at Minneapolis, MN’s First Avenue on November 3rd. DSO will play two nights at Riverside Theater in Milwaukie, WI on November 4th and 5th before celebrating the group’s 25 year with a special anniversary performance at The Vic on the 11th. The band will then head to Missouri for a one-off at The Pageant in St. Louis on November 12th, followed by a two-night stand at The National in Richmond, VA on November 17th and 18th.
After one more stop in Virginia at Norfolk’s The Norva on November 19th, DSO will stop at Wilmington, DE’s The Grand Opera House on November 20th; Harrisburg, PA’s XL Live on the 22nd; and Jim Thorpe, PA’s Penn’s Peak on the 23rd. The band will wrap up its 25th Anniversary Fall Tour with a two-night Thanksgiving run at The Paramount in Huntington, NY on November 25th and 26th.
