With Darkside coming to a close last year, fans of Dave Harrington have been curious as to what the guitarist’s next project will be. Today, we’ve learned that Harrington has assembled a group called the Merry Pranksters, honoring the Grateful Dead tradition with a late night performance post-Dead & Company in New York, NY.

On June 25th, just after Dead & Co hits Citi Field, fans can catch Harrington’s Merry Pranksters at Rough Trade NYC. The show promises to carry on the “spirit of the 60’s counterculture that birthed the Grateful Dead,” with music influenced by the Dead, as well as freakier sounds of Santana, The Allman Brothers Band, and more.
