In addition to being an award winning musician, a renowned producer, and one of the biggest rock stars in the country, Dave Grohl just earned himself an HBO television show. As reported by Classic Rock Magazine, the idea of this television series will be to expand on his documentary Sound City by visiting recording studios all over the globe. Grohl will also be interviewing the musicians that have recorded at these renowned facilities.

Among of the famed studios to be featured in the untitled project will be Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio in Chicago, Don Zientara’s Inner Ear Studios in Washington DC, and Rancho De Luna Studios in California, which has recorded Queens Of The Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys among other great rock acts. The docu-series will also include interview with music industry legends such as The Eagles’ Joe Walsh, Fugazi’s Ian McKay, Kiss’ Paul Stanley, and Minor Threat. Though unconfirmed, the television show is expected to air this winter.
