[10/23/24]: In the wake of recent devastation caused by hurricanes Helene and Milton, Dave Matthews Band and Warren Haynes appear to be joining forces for a hurricane relief benefit at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden (MSG) on November 24th, 2024.
Both Dave Matthews Band and Haynes—who share a reputation for lending their talents to noble causes—took to social media to drop a cryptic teaser, sparking excitement and speculation among fans. The video features a dramatic overhead view of Madison Square Garden, with clouds parting to reveal a map of North Carolina and Florida—two states that have been hard-hit by the recent hurricanes.
Though details are still under wraps, the timing of this benefit concert aligns perfectly with Dave Matthews Band’s previously announced two-night stand at MSG on November 22nd and 23rd. The news also comes on the heels of Warren Haynes’ announcement that his beloved annual Christmas Jam will not take place in Asheville, NC this year, a decision made in light of the damage the hurricane has inflicted on his hometown. A staple of the holiday season, Haynes’ Christmas Jam has historically brought together a wide array of talent for charity, and the postponement leaves room for Haynes to channel his energy into this upcoming relief effort alongside Dave Matthews Band.
With the teaser video already making waves, more details are expected soon. But one thing is clear: the night of November 24th will likely serve as both a musical celebration and a rallying cry for communities in need, proving yet again the power of music to unite and heal. Stay tuned for updates as details emerge for what will be an unforgettable night of music and goodwill at the World’s Most Famous Arena.
