Bloomsbury Publishing will release the official book adaptation of David Byrne‘s American Utopia this fall. The 2018 album and tour from Byrne of the same name, which he later converted to a stage play, will hit bookshelves everywhere on September 8th.

Byrne, the distinguished Talking Heads frontman, enlisted two members of his stage play team, Alex and Maira Kalman, to edit, design, and illustrate the treatise on movement—both physical and mental.

“Here is the hope and joy that I believe emanates from this show turned into something you can hold in your hand—thank you Maira and Alex,” Byrne said in a statement on Monday. Maira Kalman added that the book will be “A reminder to sing, dance, and waste not a moment.”

This news follows an announcement from early February that famed filmmaker Spike Lee will adapt American Utopia to a feature film. Later last month, Byrne shared details of the American Utopia return to Broadway in the fall of 2020 following the show’s successful first run of 121 performances that finished just last month on February 16th.
