Keeping up with the trend of this summer, Dead & Company continue to call on vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux for their biggest performances. Godchaux first surprised fans by making an appearance at Bonnaroo, and returned just a couple weeks later when the band made their stadium debut at Citi Field. Fast forward a few more weeks, and the band’s second trip to a stadium – Fenway Park – concluded with some great work from the Grateful Dead vocalist.

After opening the show with a big jam that wound its way into “Truckin’,” the band wrapped into “Big River” before welcoming out Godchaux. She would remain throughout the entire performance, joining in on “They Love Each Other,” “Deal,” “Bird Song,” “Passenger,” and “Going Down The Road Feeling Bad” to end the first set.

The heat continued through act two, as Dead & Co returned with a big “Playing In The Band.” The show saw the band bring out favorites like “Estimated Prophet” and “He’s Gone,” before jamming into “Sugaree” and “Fire On The Mountain.” After a psychedelic “Drums/Space” interlude, the band returned for “Days Between,” before Godchaux rejoined and closed the set out with “Not Fade Away.” A rockin’ “One More Saturday Night” ended the show on a high note, as Deadheads rejoiced from a great stadium performance.
