On Thursday night, Dead & Company kicked off the 18-show 2025 season of their Dead Forever residency at Las Vegas, NV’s Sphere. With no official livestream and no pro-shot videos available from the highly anticipated Sphere opener, fans are flocking to social media this morning to get a glimpse of what went down on the Grateful Dead offshoot’s first 2025 concert at the state-of-the-art entertainment venue.

Based on what we can gather from the videos and photos online, the show’s visual narrative followed a similar structure to the one used for the 2024 Dead & Company Sphere residency—starting in Haight-Ashbury, launching into outer space, and winding through various enveloping looks before returning home—but mixed in a number of new visuals (including some blotter-inspired animations) over the course of the journey. Of note, while the visuals started in familiar territory, the setlist began with the band’s first-ever take on The Spencer Davis Group’s “Gimme Some Lovin'”.
While we on the East Coast impatiently wait for Vegas to wake up and tell us about the show, we’ve collected a bunch of Dead & Company Sphere 2025 night one videos from social media here to whet your appetite. Enjoy the clips and view the setlist below, and check back on Live For Live Music later today for our full, on-the-ground recap of the first-night festivities.
