This Friday, Death Grips were scheduled to play an official Lollapalooza after party before their Saturday night performance at Lollapalooza the next day. As hundreds of fans packed the sold out venue Bottom Lounge, and after the opening act went on as scheduled, fans soon realized the band they came to see was not going to show up. Concert attendees then proceeded to destroy the bands equipment including Death Grips’ drummer Zach Hill drum set. The band is no longer playing Lollapalooza and are being replaced by Shaun White’s Bad Things. According to Pitchfork, Lollapalooza representatives claim the band, “chose not to arrive in Chicago”.

The venue has released this official statement via Facebook: We are still getting bits and pieces of information but we were not aware that Death Grips was not coming until right before we made the announcement. Right now, we just want to thank all the people at the show last night who, despite being terribly disappointed that there would be no Death Grips show, were very understanding. Tickets are in the process of being refunded and people that bought tickets online will see their refunds on their statements shortly.
