Not content to rest on laurels, the Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio is back with a new single, “Cold As Weiss”. This latest release comes three months after the band’s sophomore album, I Told You So, hit streaming platforms to critical and commercial acclaim. The song also serves as an introduction for fans to meet DLO3’s new permanent drummer, Dan Weiss (The Sextones).
The latest single builds on the soul-jazz foundation that Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio has been laying down since its 2018 debut LP, Close but No Cigar. The brief 2:40 minute track puts Weiss front and center, as a looping guitar riff from Jimmy James throws some Dick Dale elements into the funky groove.

“’Cold As Weiss’ was a spur of moment instantaneous groove that Dan Weiss kicked off when DLO3 was in the middle of a break between livestreams,” bandleader Lamarr said in a press release. “Take a listen and wild guess to the drum break, you’ll dig the inspiration behind it. And no better way to initiate your new full time drummer than to release a new single ‘Cold As Weiss’ on his birthday!”
