The road goes on forever for the Tedeschi Trucks Band, as the acclaimed group continues to tour relentlessly with their unique brand of soulful rock and roll. Their lead guitarist and half of their namesake, Derek Trucks, sat down with the Boston Herald recently to go in depth on all things TTB.

The interview is centered around the band’s upcoming three-night stand at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, MA, but Trucks gives lots of insights into the band’s plans. The article starts with an admission of those Allman Brothers Band reunion rumors, saying, “First things first: Derek Trucks isn’t interested in that rumored Allman Brothers Band reunion in 2017. He loves the guys and music, but the former ABB guitarist has a group of his own now, the Tedeschi Trucks Band.”

However, Trucks does mention some exciting news for fans of the band. He says they have “a new live album we’re finishing up and a (concert) film. We’re going to stay on it. We’re right in the thick of it as a band. I don’t want to let up.” He also admits that they want to try and spend a little less time on the road, but that probably won’t happen in 2017.

Trucks also muses about teaching a master class at the Berklee College of Music, but finds his obligations with work and family to be more than enough at the time. “I’m sure down the road I’ll look at it. But when I have any break, it’s all about the kids. Time on the road is about the band and time at home is all about being parents.” One day…

Tedeschi Trucks Band are set to take over the Orpheum from December 1st through the 3rd. Don’t miss out!
