Karl Denson Tiny Universe guitarist DJ Williams solo act Shots Fired has partnered up with cannabis company Legion of Bloom and the Alchemy Lounge and Social Club in Los Angeles to present a four-part weekly residency dubbed the All Fired Up series. The All Fired Up series will feature four different cannabis strain profiles, plus a completely different and uniquely themed set of music from DJ Williams’ Shot Fired each week.

Back in May, Williams returned to the U.S. after being detained for forty-two days in the Middle East for possession of a small amount cannabis oil while on a trip to visit family. Williams stated in a recent interview with High Times, “We want to get the word out, get people a little more aware of what’s happening in other parts of the country and help them appreciate how lucky we have it here, with the laws changing now in [places like] Colorado, California and Washington….As much as I wouldn’t want to go do that experience again, I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time. I have a whole new outlook on life.”

Now, the guitarist has paired with Legion of Bloom to help raise awareness about his situation and to educate others. Legion of Bloom will gift participants of each event with a complimentary “Monarch” vape pen, which features a cannabis oil cartridge that cultivators have curated to pair with the musical theme of each residency night. The DJ Williams’ Shots Fired collective includes members of Dave Matthews Band, Slightly Stoopid, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Greyboy Allstars, Lyric’s Born, Lenny Kravitz, Dr. John and others, and will perform the following musical themes over the course of the All Fired Up series:

  • Sept. 19: Classic ReGrind (Reimagined “hits” of the 80s and 90s)
  • Sept. 26: Motown on Wax (45-RPM Soul)
  • October 3: Dabs for Dilla (Putting the J. in your juke joints)
  • October 10: OG Shots (Live from Over Here)
