Brooklyn-based prog-rock/jam outfit Dopapod has had a busy year following the 2014 release of their latest album Never Odd or Even, and has just announced their return to New York City on Friday, November 20th at Irving Plaza (get tix HERE). The group, made up of Rob Compa (guitar), Eli Winderman (keys), Chuck Jones (bass), and Scotty Zwang (drums), has hit the road hard headlining cities across the country, along with breakout performances at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Mountain Jam, and their annual throwdown at Catskill Chill. Their ability to create technical, well-crafted compositions and transition into epic funky, dance-driven jams has helped them carve out their own niche in the scene.

With regards to Never Odd or Even, Rob Compa explained, “We really felt that the material this time around represented a big leap forward, not just in the way we’ve been interacting as a band, but in the way our focus has become sharper in paying attention to things like melody, theme, lyrical imagery, and structure – all the elements that make a great song.”

Joining Dopapod on their current tour and for their Irving Plaza show will be funk/soul/jam outfit The Nth Power. There are a lot of incredible things to come out of New Orleans, and in particular Jazz Fest itself. In 2012, The Nth Power was one of those magical creations that came out of an impromptu late-night jam session. With Nick Cassarino (guitar/vocals), Nikki Glaspie (drums), Nate Edgar (bass), Weedie Braimah (percussion), and recent addition Courtney J’Mell Smith (keys), The Nth Power is taking their mix of funk/soul/R&B to the next level. As they prepare to release their first full-length album on November 13th, Abundance, the group sets their sights on making a deeper spiritual bond with the masses in 2016 with the healing power of music and LOVE.
