Mom And Dad, the power trio comprised of Dopapod’s Chuck Jones (aka MOM) and Neal “Fro” Evans (aka AND) and guitarist Ben Larroquette (aka DAD), has announced a six-date October run through the Rocky Mountain State. The tour will make stops in Frisco (10/6), Boulder (10/7), Fort Collins (10/8), Denver (10/12), Winter Park (10/13), and Steamboat Springs (10/14). At the Steamboat Springs, Frisco and Winter Park stops on the run, the band will play two sets: one featuring all original music, and one comprised of the music of Black Sabbath.
Fans of Dopapod know Chuck and Neal, but are perhaps not as familiar with Larroquette. However, as Jones explains, this particular group of musicians has a long history playing together (you can listen to some of Ben’s solo work here). “I’ve been playing music with [Ben] longer than anyone else!” says the bassist, “We met in high school, and then both went to Berklee College of Music together. That’s where we met Neal and started Mom And Dad. The three of us don’t get to play music [together] nearly as much as any of us would like, so when we do it’s something special for us and the viewers! We’ll make your head bang, make you laugh and make you dance! We don’t take ourselves too seriously. That doesn’t mean we don’t put a ton of effort into our songwriting and performances–it hopefully means people can tell we are just up there having a good time and helping people do the same.” The band released their debut album, Nice Missile, in 2014 and are currently in the process of recording their follow-up.
