A statement shared by the band on Thursday afternoon reads:
Due to the weather forecast, the Rolling Stones Hard Rock Stadium show scheduled for Sat Aug 31 has been moved to tomorrow night, Fri Aug 30. All tickets will be honored for the new date. There will be no opening act-doors will open at 6PM ET & the Stones will go on at 8:30PM ET.
According to national weather reports, Dorain is expected to intensify to a Category 4 and poses a growing danger to areas of the Southeast U.S., notably the state of Florida. The storm’s projected path has it reaching land near the Florida Peninsula late in the weekend.
The Stones’ return to North America on their No Filter Tour this summer had already been rescheduled once to make up for the missed Jazz Fest performance after singer Mick Jagger was forced to undergo heart surgery back in the spring. The tour schedule was amended again in July when Tropical Storm Barry forced the band to push back their already-rescheduled show at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
