Last night, the Chicago Cubs won 8-2 against the St. Louis Cardinals on their home turf at Wrigley Field. Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder was in attendance, as he’s known to go to a baseball game from time to time, and publicly celebrated the win with a special musical performance outside. While exiting the stadium, Vedder happened upon a group of street performers and jumped in for an impromptu jam inspired by Pearl Jam‘s 1994’s “Corduroy.” Alongside a street drummer, Vedder provided guitar and vocals in the spontaneous setting, gaining a growing fanbase along the way.
Last year, Vedder found himself in a late-night “The Weight” jam with Derek Trucks and Bill Murray after the Cleveland Indians beat the Chicago Cubs in Game 4 of the World Series. Watch that here. Becoming a tradition now, watch the fan-compiled video of Eddie Vedder celebrating Friday night’s win with fans in the street of Chicago below.
