Electric Daisy Carnival, better known as EDC, started as an annual dance music festival in Los Angeles. Quickly catching fire, EDC expanded to two days, then moved to Las Vegas for a three-day festival. Shortly thereafter, EDCs started popping up nationwide, with variations in New York, Orlando, Chicago, and more.

After expanding to Puerto Rico, Mexico, and, more recently, the UK and Brazil, EDC has just announced a brand new festival in Tokyo, Japan. Although it won’t happen for another year, EDC Japan is sure to be a favorite among locals and traveling festival fiends alike.

Insomniac Events founder Pasquale Rotella said in a statement, “Dance music is truly a global movement, and over the last few years I’ve been fortunate enough to bring EDC to our Headliners in Mexico, the UK, and later this year, Brazil… I can’t tell you how excited I am to announce that in 2016, we’ll be adding Japan to that list! More info to come, but make sure to follow @EDC_Japan for all the details. #EDCJP.”
