In a surprise late-afternoon announcement, Electric Forest—the beloved two weekend music and camping festival in Rothbury, Michigan, which will take place from June 21st to 24th and June 28th to July 1st this year—has just expanded its lineup to include 40 additional artists. The festival, which announced its 2018 initial lineup at the beginning of December, also just announced a special new program called “Tickets For Teachers”, which perhaps was inspired by AEG’s Don Strasburg’s free concert ticket giveaway to educators earlier this week.
As Electric Forest explained in a press release about the new Tickets For Teachers program:
In celebration of the important work that teachers do, and in appreciation for the dedicated teachers in Western Michigan, Electric Forest is offering every full-time K-12 teacher in the counties of Oceana, Mason, Lake, Newaygo, and Muskegon the opportunity to apply to receive 1 GA Wristband to either weekend of Electric Forest 2018. Electric Forest producer Jeremy Stein states, “Electric Forest is inspired by the many voices who call for greater support and appreciation for teachers. We hope the festival can provide local teachers a deeper connection to community, a free-spirited exploration of the arts, and a well-deserved Summer recharge.”
Eligible educators can apply for Electric Forest’s new Ticket For Teachers program here. Additional information and application available here.
