Elephant Revival came together in 2006, and over the past decade, the group has built a name for itself as one of the premier transcendental folk and bluegrass acts. In late September of last year, it was announced that violinist and vocalist Bridget Law would be leaving the group. Today, sadly, Elephant Revival publically announced that they’d be going on hiatus following the group’s annual Red Rocks performance on May 20th. The group also paired this announcement with the news that they’d be canceling all of their upcoming shows, save for a select number of previously scheduled festival sets.

In the band’s Facebook post about the breakup, the group cited that:

The band has been dealing with some family matters that have led us to reassess and realize that, while we’ve all been putting so much energy into Elephant Revival, we need some time to reconnect with our loved ones and focus on personal growth.

Outside of being a beloved staple of the music festival circuit and top-tier Colorado band, Elephant Revival has always been vocal about advocating for causes they believe in. The Nederland-based outfit also noted that “we will continue to advocate for public lands and other causes dear to our hearts.” The band then expressed how proud they are of their ongoing Trail Revival project, which restores trails on Colorado public lands, and reiterated that their annual Trail Revival will happen again this year and will probably fall around the second annual Colorado Public Lands Day on May 19th (one day before their Red Rocks performance).

We wish all the members of Elephant Revival nothing but the best in whatever new endeavors lie ahead. We’ll see you all at Red Rocks on May 20th. You can read the full post from Elephant Revival below:
