The 16th edition of the annual cannabis competition and festival will take place on December 14th-15th, and will feature additional musical performances throughout the weekend from The Polish Ambassador, The Expendables, The Movement, Con Brio and Chali 2na. According to Thursday’s announcement, the latter two artists will both be performing and creating a “puff & paint” mural at the event. Music will also take place on the event’s Redwood Stage with a full lineup curated by organizers of the Northern Nights Festival, with performers to be announced closer to the December event.
One of the other highlights of the upcoming event will be when Tommy Chong is presented with the Emerald Cup’s “Willie Nelson Award,” a lifetime achievement honor that celebrates those who have led the charge in the growing cannabis movement through the advocacy of its benefits and accessibility.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone to what promises to be the best Emerald Cup to-date,” Emerald Cup founder Tim Blake said of the 2019 event. “It is truly a beautiful moment in the history of cannabis culture. After enduring the challenges of legalization in California over the last two years, and three years of enduring devastating fires, rain and power outages, the industry has begun to stabilize and this year’s event is an opportunity for our community to celebrate this year’s hard work together.”
