Eminem surprised fans on Thursday night with the unexpected release of Music To Be Murdered By – Side B. The record arrives as a companion to his 11th studio album, Music To Be Murdered By, which the hip-hop artist released earlier this year.

Perhaps even more surprising, Em issued a rare apology on the album’s 14th track, “Zeus”. Em says during the first verse, “But, me, long as I re-promise to be honest / And wholeheartedly, apologies, Rihanna / For that song that leaked, I’m sorry, Ri / It wasn’t meant to cause you grief. Regardless, it was wrong of me.”

Here, Eminem is referring to a leaked track in 2019 which heard him say, “Of course I side with Chris Brown / I’d beat a b**** down too.” This line made reference to the assault on Rihanna by her boyfriend at the time in 2009. Brown plead guilty and received probation and community service.

With one beef squashed, Em couldn’t resist fanning the flames of conflict with another artist. During the last verse of the same song, Marshall Mathers responded to comments made by Snoop Dogg earlier this year.

During an interview with Charlamagne tha God and DJ Envy on “Breakfast Club”, Snoop credited Eminem’s success to longtime producer and collaborator Dr. Dre. He went further, and told the “Breakfast Club” hosts that Em didn’t make his top 10 list of favorite rappers, putting him behind legends like RakimBig Daddy KaneKRS-One, and others.

Em responded with, “And, as far as squashin’ beef, I’m used to people knocking me / But, just not in my camp / I’m diplomatic ’cause I’m tryna be / Last thing I need is Snoop doggin’ me / Man, dog, you was like a (yeah) damn god to me / Nah, not really (haha) / I had “dog” backwards.”

Surely not the most fiery insult Eminem has ever included in a song.
