To boo Eric Clapton is a sin, yet the guitar legend was indeed heckled after he walked off stage mid performance. Having barely made it through JJ Cale’s Cocaine, Clapton unslung his guitar and departed the Glasgow stage without warning. The rest of the band, seemingly taken by surprise, followed. Fans were given no explanation at the time for the early departure, but Clapton has since issued a statement about the situation. Clapton continued his touring without incident. He redeemed himself at the following performance in Leeds, where Eric and his band made it through a complete version of Cocaine.
