Faith No More is one of those enigmatic bands that you just never knew what they were going to do next; especially with a frontman like Mike Patton (who is as eccentric as they come), and their most recent actions drive home that point. The group recently announced the coming of their first new album since 1997’s Album of the Year, and having not toured or played in the U.S. in over four years, they decided to break that streak with a surprise 5-song, in-store performance at San Francisco’s Amoeba Records to coincide with Records Store Day’s Black Friday event, which also saw Faith No More release their latest single “Motherfucker” on 7-inch vinyl (digital release Dec. 9th).

The band’s 7th studio album is scheduled for an April 2015 release date. Hopefully, some U.S. tour dates will be announced shortly as well (the band has confirmed that they will tour in 2015), though the group did perform in Europe early last summer. For now, check out some fan-shot videos of the record store performance.
