Billy Strings kicked off his European tour at Sentrum Scene in Oslo, Norway with a memorable performance that was met with a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the foreign crowd. The show started on a special note as fans serenaded Strings with a heartfelt rendition of “Hurra For Deg”, a Norwegian birthday song, in honor of his 33rd birthday.

The night featured a mix of fan favorites and some rare gems. The setlist included long-shelved classics “Midnight Train” (last played 12/7/24) and “Cold On The Shoulder” (last played 5/11/23), as well as a solo clawhammer banjo rendition of “Reuben’s Train” with a detour through”Ol’ Rickard” and a solo take on “Brown’s Ferry Blues”. The crowd also enjoyed a “Dos Banjos” duet between Billy Billy Failing, a.k.a. “Dos Billys”, toward the end of the first set.

The momentum continued as the band gathered around a single mic and opened the second set with “East Virginia Blues” and “Born to Be With You”. Another notable highlight was a seamless set-closing sequence “On The Line” (which featured a playful “You see it Norway” lyrics change) > “Train 45” > “Ruby”. The night finished on a high note with an encore that included the emotional “The Letter Edged In Black” and “Unwanted Love”.
