Organizers of Firefly Music Festival announced on Thursday that there will be no 2023 edition of the festival. Instead, the pop megafest held at The Woodlands in Dover, DE will return in 2024.
“After 10 magical years of Firefly in The Woodlands, we’ve decided to take a year to recharge our lights,” organizers wrote on social media. “We will see you in 2024!”

This news comes after Firefly was forced to scrap its 2020 gathering due to the pandemic. The festival ultimately returned in 2021, though with the dates shifted to September away from its usual June weekend. Upon its return in 2022, Firefly stuck to the realigned September dates. Thursday’s announcement did not include a save the date or reason for the gap year.
This past year’s installment, the festival’s tenth overall, brought big-name artists to Delaware including headliners Halsey, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, and Dua Lipa.
