Many great musicians and rock stars make the decision to pen a memoir at some point during their careers.  However, not all can promise the eccentricity or mystique of the-just-announced-and-soon-to-be-released memoir from Red Hot Chilli Peppers‘ co-founder/cartoon character voice, Flea.

Not only is the the high-energy (and sometimes nude) bassist a co-founder of the 30+ year old band, he has also performed with the likes of The Mars Volta and Atoms for Peace, and even acted in the films Back to the Future Part II and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Working sans ghost-writer and with no set release date announced just yet, Flea will begin his biographical saga dating back to his childhood and youth, which includes, “…his move from a ‘normal’ upbringing in the suburbs of New York to Los Angeles to live a bohemian life with a jazz musician step-father; his young, rebellious life on the streets of L.A. where he befriends Anthony Kiedis and founds the Red Hot Chili Peppers“.

The as-of-yet untitled memoir will be released via Grand Central Publishing. Lead-singer of RHCPAnthony Kiedis, released his memoir, Scar Tissue, back in 2004.

We at L4LM cannot wait to read what will undoubtedly be an amazing book. Here’s some video footage of Flea being awesome, because, well, why not?
