On Saturday, December 26th, 50+ artists and hundreds of thousands of viewers around the world came together for Georgia Comes Alive, a virtual music festival aimed at promoting voter participation in Georgia’s critical Senate runoff elections on January 5th, 2021.

One of the many world-famous acts to take the virtual stage for Georgia Comes Alive was rock and roll juggernaut Foo Fighters. While the band’s plans for a massive 25th-anniversary world tour this year were dashed by the pandemic, Dave Grohl and company have managed to offer some much-needed moments of levity throughout 2020—from Grohl’s highly-publicized online drum battle with a 10-year-old girl from the U.K. to his charming Hanukkah Sessions video series with producer Greg Kurstin.

Here’s hoping 2021 brings a belated Foo Fighters anniversary tour. Until then, however, the group treated the Georgia Comes Alive audience with a full-band performance of the Platinum-certified hit from Grammy-winning 1999 album, There Is Nothing Left To Lose, complete with a four-piece chorus of backing singers. The band even took a few extra moments to rock, kicking into a fuzzed-out breakdown to end the take.
