New York’s famous music fan group known as The Freaks have organized an incredible new tradition with their Inaugural Holiday Jam. The event, which is set to take place on December 21 at Littlefield in Brooklyn, NY, has a heavy focus on charity, with proceeds benefiting We Make Noise and a charity auction and raffle filled with tons of fun experiences to potentially win. The group has even set up a special ticket link that automatically gives $0.25 of your purchase directly to We Make Noise.

The Freaks has grown from a longstanding music-sharing listserv into an impactful musical community in and around the New York area. As a result, the Freak’s Action Network was born, branching off from the original group as a way to create opportunities for the group to help their local scene or get involved in some charitable efforts. This Holiday Jam is the result of the work of the Freak’s Action Network, who are powering this event by securing some amazing raffle and auction prizes, and by booking awesome musical talent.

The group has long been known for championing local musicians and helping to elevate them through their shared passion for music. As such, the group booked three stellar acts that showcase the best and brightest of the local New York music scene. Groove-funk instrumental group POLYVAMP will kick things off followed by the young by the super-talented bass hero, Karina Rykman of Marco Benevento‘s band, who will showcase her new disco-leaning project The Karina Rykman Experiment. The Inaugural Holiday Jam will be headlined by recent GRAMMY Award nominee and former Gregg Allman Band musical director Scott Sharrard and his powerful Brickyard Band.

In terms of the charity auction, there are two elements: a silent auction and a raffle. The raffle is being handled online and does not require you to attend the event to purchase a ticket. This allows anyone to bid on the items that are up for grabs, which, in turn, helps raise more money for We Make Noise, which will take home 100% of the proceeds from raffle sales. There are a ton of awesome potential things to win, such as a one year Classic Fish Membership to Le Poisson Rouge and posters by artists, such as AJ Masthay, John Warner, James Flames, Justin Santora and more. Several pairs of tickets to many great concerts in the New York area will also be on the line, such as The New Mastersounds post-Phish late night show on New Year’s Eve, Greensky Bluegrass at the Playstation Theatre on 1/27, Marcus King Band at Gramercy Theatre on 12/28, and all three nights of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead at the Capitol Theatre on 1/12-1/14/18. You can even win the opportunity to hang with Karina Rykman herself and down a seafood tower at Lure Fishbar in downtown Manhattan.

The silent auction, which will occur live during the Inaugural Holiday Jam, will see a number of really cool items up for auction. Those attending the event will be able to bid on guitar lessons from Scott Metzger and Scott Sharrard, a lunch and private tour of Spotify‘s new offices with Ian Geller, Global Head of Connected Home and Car Partnerships, and a 90-minute conversation with film producer Monica Hampton (Fahrenheit 9/11, He Named Me Malala, Chasing Amy), among other cool things.
