Full Audio: Oteil Burbridge, Ivan Neville, Leo Nocentelli & Bernard Purdie Form “Monsters Of Funk”

If you’re going to call yourselves the Monsters Of Funk, you’d better be prepared to back that name up with some tasty grooves. Fortunately, there was no doubt that Oteil Burbridge, Ivan Neville, Leo Nocentelli and Bernard “Pretty” Purdie were up to the task, as the foursome delivered a great show last night at the Joy Theater in New Orleans, LA with support from the Dirty Dozen Brass Band horns.

From start to finish, these four funky cats were locked in and wailing, focusing on a set that included hits from The Meters, War, Aretha Franklin and more! The show also featured a bonus performance from The Motet, who rocked a “Mixtape 1979” theme for their closing set.
