Beloved jam band Phish kicked off a run of shows along the West Coast this past weekend, starting things up with two performances at the beautiful Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA. The historic venue has hosted Phish a number of times during their career, and these two shows certainly lived up to their expectations. Having turned a proverbial corner in their final weekend of the Northeast run, the two Phish shows at the Gorge were chock full of highlights.
When the band starts a show with “Tweezer,” you know you’re going to be in for a treat. The first show featured the debut of a new song called “Ass Handed,” a “Crosseyed and Painless” and “What’s The Use?” tease filled second set with an instrument swapping “Ghost, some “Makisupa Policeman” shenanigans that bled into “Wilson” and Led Zeppelin’s “Good Times Bad Times” to close the show. Night two brought more fire power, with bust out versions of “Driver” and “Love You” among the many highlights. Some great jamming on “Bathtub Gin” and the encore “Harry Hood” into “Tweezer Reprise” sent fans home smiling.
Fortunately, thanks to YouTube user phunguy, we can watch videos of night one and two streaming in below. Enjoy!
