Modern blues-rock torch-bearer Gary Clark Jr. recently performed “Night Time Is The Right Time” without his guitar, which will air on a special New Year’s Eve broadcast of live music television program Austin City Limits. Austin City Limits has shared pro-shot video of Clark and a plethora of talent performing the rhythm and blues tune made famous by Ray Charles, at Austin, TX’s Moody Theater.
Austin City Limit’s upcoming “Hall Of Fame New Year’s Special” was filmed live on October 25th, and will be hosted by Chris Isaak on PBS. Clark’s rendition of “Night Time Is The Right Time” finds him backed by the ACL house band as well as vocalists Ruthie Foster, Carolyn Wonderland, and Shelley King. Robert Randolph, Boz Scaggs, Norah Jones, and Irma Thomas are among the other musicians included in the ACL special, which also pays tribute to Los Lobos and Marcia Ball.
