The Gathering Of The Vibes 2014 announced its daily lineup and new additions. This year’s gathering takes place Thursday July 31st to Sunday August 3rd at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, CT. In addition to the schedule announcement, additional artists have been confirmed, including a special set from Lotus, which has been dubbed Lotus: Talking Heads Deconstructed.
A statement from Lotus describing the unique set: “Talking Heads have been a musical inspiration for Lotus from the earliest days of the band’s formation. Both bands evolved in similar fashion, starting as a basic two-guitar rock band and subsequently expanding to include synthesizers, percussion and a host of musical influences. At the heart of Talking Heads’ music are great grooves – many of which pointed toward the basic beats found in dance styles that are still going strong today. For this special set Lotus (and special guests) will be exploring the intersections between the music of Lotus and Talking Heads, rock and dance, old and new.”
Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Orgone, Assembly Of Wine, Crash, Barefoot Truth, The Primate Fiasco, David Gans and Cosmic Dust Bunnies have also been added to the 2014 Gathering Of The Vibes lineup.
