Folk duo Gillian Welch and David Rawlings will celebrate the 45th anniversary of Grateful Dead live acoustic album Reckoning with a limited run of 2026 tour dates [get tickets].
The seven-show run will kick off with three nights at Port Chester, NY’s The Capitol Theatre (4/9–4/11), where the Dead played 13 shows from 1970 to 1971. The 1970 shows included acoustic sets, a format the jam band forefathers resurrected in 1980 for their 15th anniversary residencies at San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre and New York’s Radio City Music Hall. The Dead documented the acoustic performances on Reckoning and issued Dead Set with electric highlights.

After the Capitol Theatre, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings will take their Reckoning tribute to the Dead’s home turf in Oakland, CA, for two nights at the Fox Theater on April 17th and 18th, ahead of a one-off show in New Orleans. The April 23rd concert at the Saenger Theatre will coincide with the first Thursday of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Finally, the tour will wrap with an appearance at Newport Folk Festival on July 25th, one of the festival’s first artist announcements.
Various pre-sales for Gillian Welch and David Rawlings’ 2026 Reckoning tour dates will take place throughout the week, including a Live Nation pre-sale on Thursday, February 12th at 12 p.m. local time.
