Goose continued its fall tour over the weekend with a visit to Cincinnati, OH’s Andrew J Brady Music Center for three shows.

Friday set the tone for a full-throttle weekend, kicking off with an indie-groove version of “Atlas Dogs”, followed by fan-favorite “Elizabeth” a slow, melodic “All I Need” that segued into “One In, One Out”, and a sprawling, 22-minute rendition of newer tune “Big Modern!” to bring the show to setbreak. Set two featured a nautical pairing of “The Old Man’s Boat” > “Fish In The Sea” by Fat Freddy’s Drop, as well as the Goose debut of Father John Misty‘s “So I’m Growing Old On Magic Mountain”. The night concluded with Bobby Blue Bland‘s “Turn On Your Love Light”—a Grateful Dead staple—and featured the debut of Rick Mitarotonda‘s new instrument, a DeLuis guitar name Dracul.

The jams continued to flow on night two, which saw the return of Kate Bush‘s “Running Up That Hill”—a callback to the band’s Stranger Things-themed Halloween show—which started a continuous three-song sequence that finished with Nina Simone‘s “Sinnerman” by way of “Jeff Engborg”. “Everything Must Go” capped off the evening in the encore slot.

Night three started with some a-Goose-tic jams, with Rick, Peter Anspach, and Trevor Weekz all playing acoustic instruments. They opened with “Moonrise”, followed by the Goose debut of “Dim Lights” (previously performed as Orebolo) and a cover of Bruce Springsteen‘s “Atlantic City”. Rick switched over to electric in the middle of “A Western Sun”, but Trevor stuck it out on acoustic for “Butter Rum”. A five-song second set ended the weekend run on a high note with a trip down “Wysteria Lane” into the Talking Heads classic “Psycho Killer”, concluding with “Slow Ready”, “Red Bird”, and “Tumble”. A pairing of Billy Ray Cyrus‘ “Achy Breaky Heart” and “Factory Fiction” brought the night and the run to a close.
