Last week, Goose released the latest edition of the band’s live improvisational compilation series, Ted Tapes. On Thursday at 10:30 p.m. ET, the Connecticut-bred quintet will go live for the premiere of a visualizer video for the entire 16-track recording. Ahead of the premiere, Goose offered fans a sneak preview with a visualizer video for “Moby”.

The recording was taken from the band’s January 17th, 2020 performance at Dead & Company‘s Playing in the Sand destination event at The Moon Palace in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Serving as the first track on Ted Tapes 2021, “Moby” welcomes listeners in with the serene improvisational soundscapes that have come to define the Ted Tapes releases.

Set to calming visualizations of jellyfish, swimmers, and other aquatic activities—perhaps a nod to the beachfront set from which the track came—”Moby” is guided along with the stirring leads of guitarist Rick Mitarotonda. This performance came prior to the inclusion of auxiliary percussionist Jeffrey Arevalo and, overall, takes on an understated rhythmic approach as Rick is allowed to lead the charge and decide the direction of the improvisation.

Watch the visualizer video for “Moby” from Goose’s Ted Tapes 2021, directed by Cale Potts. Tune in tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET on Goose’s Facebook and YouTube pages to see the full visualizer video. Head over to the band’s Bandcamp to purchase the album in digital and physical formats.
