Anticipation for an upcoming Gorillaz album is at an all-time-high. The group started chronicling their entire history on social media two weeks ago, posting videos and clips from all of their releases and performances over the years. Then, ten new pages from The Book of Noodle released last week, confirming the start of their fourth phase. With no official announcement of an album release date, a recent report revealed that that the new record is just two weeks away from completion. While they’re still in the studio, these social media spasms have us thinking the actual release is near.

Today, the Internet flared up with another story from Gorillaz: The Book of Russel, which sees characterized drummer Russel Hobbs on a quest to rescue his bandmate Noodle after an attack on Plastic Beach. As The Book of Russel concludes, “The band was getting back together.”

Read the entire series below, and rejoice for the return of the Gorillaz! With Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett at the helm, we can’t wait to see what this future release has in store.
