There’s been a lot of news coming from Gorillaz in the past few months, with the group releasing their latest studio effort Humanz after seven years of musical silence in addition to announcing an extensive cross-continental tour. The digital band of 2-D, Murdoc, Russel, and Noodle masterminded by Damon Albarn and Jaimie Hewlett has always been on the technological, forefront, using technology to enhance and innovate during their musical performances. So perhaps it’s not surprising that the group’s webcast announcement today strays from our traditional couch tour expectations.
Gorillaz Release Video For Never-Before-Heard Song “Sleeping Powder” From ‘Humanz’ Recording Session
Today, Gorillaz announced that they would be free streaming their concert at the Palladium in Cologne, Germany so that fans around the world can tune in and check out the group in action. However, the stream tonight presented by Telekom Electronic Beats will feature an immersive 360° video stream. The Germany performance is also set to serve as a showcase for Humanz, so Gorillaz will perform the entire album in its entirety during the show.
