In a new interview with ABC News Australia, Gorillaz’s frontman Damon Albarn has put a timeline on the growing rumors of a Gorillaz return in 2016. In the piece, Albarn says bluntly, “I’m starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record.”

Collaborator Jamie Hewlett all-but confirmed this news back in January, when he posted artwork of two of the band’s fictional cartoon members, Murdoc and Noodle.
