The Governors Ball Music Festival will return for its tenth incarnation on June 5th–7th, 2020 at New York’s Randall’s Island. On Monday, festival organizers Founder’s Entertainment announced that they will enforce a new age policy in 2020 that requires any attendees under the age of 18 to be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21. Both ticket holders will be required to present valid ID at the entrance, as will all attendees over the age of 18. Any adult aged 21 years and older is permitted to chaperone a maximum of two persons aged 17 and under. A full breakdown of the new Governors Ball age policy can be found here.
“Nothing is more important to us than the quality of the festival experience,” Founder’s Entertainment’s Tom Russell and Jordan Wolowitz explain in a press statement. “And the changes we are implementing this year come directly from fan feedback and conversation. We are always listening, always evolving, and always trying to give our fans and our City the best festival they could ask for.”
In addition to the new age and ID policy, Governors Ball 2020 will feature enhancements to its VIP program, as well as introducing a new VIP Luxe option. The upgraded VIP package will now include air-conditioned, flushable bathrooms, private wi-fi networks at two of the four VIP viewing areas, a dedicated fast lane at ferry docks and shuttle pick-up locations, free shipping of tickets, and free water at all VIP areas. The new Governor’s Ball VIP Luxe program will feature all the amenities of the VIP program in addition to access to a private luxury suite equipped with all-inclusive beverages, food, and an email concierge.
