Governors Ball has announced the lineup for its tenth anniversary event set to take place on September 24th, 25th, and 26th, 2021 in its new home at New York’s Citi Field. The last Gov Ball to take place was the rain-shortened spring 2019 edition at Randall’s Island. The 2020 edition was canceled as the pandemic continued to spread, and the initially scheduled spring 2021 dates were later pushed to the fall.
In addition to headlining performances by Billie Eilish (Friday, September 24th), A$AP Rocky (Saturday, September 25th), J Balvin (Saturday, September 25th), and Post Malone (Sunday, September 26th), the 2021 edition of Governors Ball will feature sets by DaBaby, Rüfüs Du Sol, Leon Bridges, Portugal. The Man, EarthGang, Orville Peck, Megan Thee Stallion, Phoebe Bridgers, King Princess, Bleachers, 21 Savage, Ellie Goulding, Young Thug, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jamie XX, and many more.
While the announcement did not detail specifics regarding capacity limits and other COVID-19 safety protocols, organizers Founders Entertainment noted that they have been “working in close consultation with the City of New York” and that the event will “follow all state and federal guidelines mandated at the time of the event.”
As New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio noted in a statement, “Building a recovery for all of us means reconnecting with the iconic events that make New York City the greatest travel destination in the world. As more New Yorkers become vaccinated by the day, we’re proud to support arts and culture and welcome back Governors Ball and their fantastic lineup, including New York City’s own Princess Nokia, A$AP Rocky, and King Princess, among others.”
Citibank pre-sale tickets for Governors Ball 2021 are available now, with a general on-sale set to take place this Thursday, May 6th at 12:00 p.m. ET. For more information and ticketing details, head here.
Among the big takeaways from the new Governors Ball announcement is the move from the event’s longtime home at Randall’s Island to the New York Mets‘ stadium facility in Queens. To show off the new complex, Gov Ball also released a short video with digital renderings of the new setup. Check out the clip below.
