Those who chose to call it day, rather than stick around for Governors Balls’ headliners, which featured Kings Of Leon and Pretty Lights on opposite stages, apparently made the right call. According to a ‘breaking news’ update that was sent out to ticket holders, both artists have cancelled their headlining sets. The official statement is below:
“Due to sustained high winds and unsafe stage conditions, Kings of Leon and Pretty Lights are unable to perform. Please get home safely. Weather looks great tomorrow.”
The festival claimed throughout the weekend not to worry, as the festival would go on ‘rain or shine’, but high winds must have not been anticipated. The festival grounds, which many have reported as muddy and messy, will open tomorrow. With the line-up for the rest of the weekend, and if the weather holds up, the next two days should be a home run.
King’s of Leon have cancelled before when the band got pooped on by pigeons. (via pamatt on Phantasy Tour)…Â see here.
