The Grateful Dead will celebrate their diamond 60th anniversary with the release of Enjoying The Ride, a new limited edition 60CD box set featuring previously unreleased live recordings from 20 venues spanning 25 years (1969–1994).

Available May 30th exclusively via Dead.net, Enjoying The Ride will let fans relive the Dead’s touring heyday with more than 450 tracks and over 60 hours of music curated by the band’s archivist and legacy manager David Lemieux. The collection features full shows from 17 notable venues, including Winterland Ballroom, Frost Amphitheatre, Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Hampton Coliseum, plus selections from multiple-night runs at the Fillmore West, Fillmore East, and Boston Music Hall. The performances were originally recorded by Owsley “Bear” Stanley, Betty Cantor-Jackson, Kidd Candelario, Dan Healy, and John Cutler and have been newly restored and remastered by David Glasser and Jeffrey Norman using Plangent Processes tape restoration and speed correction for optimal sound quality.

“I truly believe that Enjoying The Ride captures both the spirit of following the Grateful Dead and the magic of their live performances at these storied venues,” said Rhino Records president Mark Pinkus. “The collection David has curated is even more meaningful to me because it includes the official release of my first-ever Dead show—July 13, 1984 at the Berkeley Greek Theatre—with its epic ‘Dark Star’ encore. This show marked the start of a lifelong journey for me, and I’m willing to bet there are many shows in this fantastic set that will resonate with fans who also found community on the road. I am forever honored to work alongside David and the Grateful Dead to keep this long, strange trip alive.”

Limited to 6,000 individually numbered copies, the 60CD Grateful Dead box set will come in a custom keepsake box “inspired by the experience of traveling from city to city to see the Dead at legendary venues across America.” The collection kicks off with April 5th, 1969 at the Avalon Ballroom, which comes on cassette, paying tribute to the Dead’s taper culture. It also includes a detailed tour guide and liner notes by Jesse Jarnow (author and co-host of the Good Ol’ Grateful Deadcast), a producer’s note from David Lemieux, an essay by the Owsley Stanley Foundation, photos from shows featured in the collection, and more.

For fans who want a more digestible edition, there’s The Music Never Stopped, a truncated version featuring at least one song from every venue on three CDs, six LPs, and digitally, available on May 30th via Rhino.com.

Along with the announcement, the band has shared unreleased versions of “Scarlet Begonias”, “Touch Of Grey”, and “Fire On The Mountain”, recorded live at the Greek Theatre on July 13th, 1984. Stream the tracks below or on your preferred platform.
