The Grateful Dead will stream the band’s April 21s, 1972 performance on the Beat Club television set in Bremen, West Germany for the latest installment of their Shakedown Stream archival webcast series.

This week’s Shakedown Stream webcast, which airs on Friday, May 22nd, will feature its usual pre-stream Q&A session with Lemieux and Gary Lambert. This week, they will talk about the performance and the lauded ’72 European tour with special guest Sam Cutler. Cutler, who some Deadheads may recognize, tour managed The Rolling Stones before being recruited by the Grateful Dead from 1970–1974, and was one of the featured interview subjects in Amir Bar-Lev‘s 2017 Long Strange Trip documentary.

The Dead’s performance on the music-oriented television show took place towards the beginning of the band’s run of European dates in the spring of 1972, an era many Deadheads consider to be the best of the band’s 30-year run. Throughout the performance, the Grateful Dead delivered some wonderfully exploratory and psychedelic takes of “Playing in the Band”, “Sugaree”, “Truckin”, and a monster 22-minute “The Other One”.

Fans can watch the pre-show Q&A followed immediately by the free webcast of the entire performance beginning Saturday at 8 p.m. ET via the video players below.
