Grateful Shred headed back to Tennessee over the weekend for a good old-fashioned Tennessee shred, bringing the spirit of the Grateful Dead to Chattanooga before hosting the band’s three-night Shred 420 celebration in Nashville.
After launching its spring tour with shows in Florida, New Orleans, and Birmingham, AL, the Grateful Dead tribute act rolled into Barrelhouse Ballroom in Chattanooga on Thursday night. There, the band treated fans to two sets of classic Deadhead favorites and far-out jams joined by Mikaela Davis on vocals.

The group then made its way to Nashville to stage a 420 extravaganza at Skinny Dennis on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In addition to three nights of Grateful Shred, the event included DJ sets throughout the day and night plus vendors, Easter surprises, an Art That Feeds food drive by Conscious Alliance, and more. It was “more fun than a frog in a glass of milk” as advertised.

Grateful Shred’s spring tour continues next week with a run of Northeast shows, including stops in Portland, ME, Boston, Philadelphia, and more, before looping back through the South and wrapping with a two-night finale in Charleston, SC.
