Last week, Phil Lesh turned 81 years old. Due to the pandemic, however, there was little fanfare around the milestone for the Grateful Dead bassist. While it may not be his annual birthday party at The Capitol Theatre—or the Phil-centric LOCKN’ that was slated to celebrate his 80th birthday in 2020—FANS has announced a virtual celebration in the form of the Greatest Story Ever Told: 81 Songs To Celebrate Phil Lesh’s 81st Birthday webcast.

Scheduled to begin on Sunday, March 28th at 10 a.m. ET, this day-long stream will host archival material celebrating Phil Lesh throughout the years. Captured at iconic venues and events like Fare Thee Well, The Capitol Theatre, LOCKN’, Brooklyn Bowl, The Apollo Theatre, and more, Greatest Story Ever Told will feature hand-picked selections of the best Phil Lesh has to offer.

View a lineup of performers and other appearances on the Greatest Story Ever Told stream below. As FANS noted in the announcement, “Of course, a birthday party isn’t complete without close friends and family, so look out for longtime Phil Lesh collaborators and friends who will stop by to send their best.”

Greatest Story Ever Told: 81 Songs To Celebrate Phil Lesh’s 81st Birthday is available to stream for free via The Relix Channel on Twitch. Tune in on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. ET.
