Greensky Bluegrass is headed home for the holidays with the announcement of a four-night New Year’s Eve run through the band’s native Michigan. The journey will take the jamgrass outfit to Saginaw and Detroit before ending in its hometown of Kalamazoo.
The NYE run will begin on December 28th at Saginaw’s Temple Theatre where May Erlewine will open the show. On the 29th, Greensky will head off to The Fillmore in Detroit where Full Cord will get things started. Finally, GSBG will wrap up 2023 with a two-night stay at The State Theatre in Kalamazoo with no opener.
Guitarist/vocalist Dave Bruzza said of the homecoming run,
Greensky is a Michigan band, and to be back, in Kalamazoo in particular, on New Year’s Eve is not only something I am looking forward to but it’s an honor to return to the band’s hometown and my hometown and welcome a new year where it all began in one of the most beautiful theaters in the country.
Not only that but to have the opportunity to perform in Saginaw and Detroit leading up to two nights in Kalamazoo, well that’s just icing on the cake.
So looking forward to seeing you this December for a true family reunion.
A pre-sale for tickets to Greensky Bluegrass’ 2023 Michigan New Year’s Eve run opens Wednesday at 10 a.m. on the band’s website and is accessible using the code “CONGRATULATIONS”. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday.
