Beloved jam grass outfit Greensky Bluegrass are rolling along, currently on tour in support of their recently-released LP Shouted, Written Down & Quoted. The band already has tour dates planned through the end of 2016, and was recently featured in an Umphrey’s McGee announcement for two big arena shows in Asheville, NC. With those shows on the books, the band has doubled down and announced a truly extensive tour that will carry the band through the winter of 2017.
The run starts on January 11th in Cleveland, working its way through the the Midwest to the Southeast and ultimately up to the Northeast area, with shows in Boston, New York, Albany, and Philadelphia. The band will then set their sights on multi-night runs, including three nights at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, two nights at the Rex Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA, and two nights at The Vic in Chicago, IL. The tour ends on February 18th, capping things off with the two-night stand as support for Umphrey’s McGee.
The tour comes on the heels of a busy 2016 for Greensky Bluegrass as well, as the band is off to Suwannee Hulaween this weekend before heading to Las Vegas, and has big Thanksgiving and New Year’s runs in the works. Fan club tickets for the 2017 tour dates will go on sale tomorrow, October 26th, and the full on sale will take place this Friday, October 28th.
